He attended the Washington schools and Washington and Jefferson College and was graduated from that institution in the class of 1900. Immediately afterward he entered the law department of Harvard College and from that law school received his diploma with the class of 1903. He entered into practice in his native city and became a member of one of the strongest law firms of Washington County-Donnans, Brownson & Miller. Mr. Donnan was admitted to practice in the Supreme and Superior courts of the state. He had business interests aside from his profession and was a member of the board of directors of the Citizens' National Bank.
