General Notes: Husband - Philip Keller

He acquired his education in the common schools. After his marriage he located in Sewickley township, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, and for about two years worked in the distillery of Jacob Waltz. He then purchased a farm from D. K. Highberger and settled down to farming. He made additions to his farm until it comprised one hundred and fourteen acres. In 1873 he and Jacob Matthias built the Madison grist mills and operated them for four or five years. Mr. Keller then sold his interest in the business to his partner, Mr. Matthias. In 1891 he acquired one-third interest in the Jeannette grist mills, which he owned about twelve years, before selling his interest in them. In 1891 he was a nominee on his ticket for a director of the poor, but failed on his election. He was a member of the United Brethren church; of the Three Graces Lodge, No. 934, Independent Order of Odd Fellows, of Madison, being one of the seven members who received a jewel for a membership of more than twenty-five years.
