General Notes: Husband - Paxton H. Riley

He was born at Caledonia Furnace, Franklin County, Pennsylvania, where his parents were living for a short time. When he was an infant they removed to Freedom Township, Adams County, and later to a farm in Liberty township, where Paxton lived until 1866, when he moved to another farm, which he bought a year or two later. Later he bought an adjoining farm and saw-mill, also dealing largely in stock and in bark.
He was a justice of the peace for five years from 1879, and held nearly all the township offices. He and his wife and family belonged to the Lutheran Church. In politics he was a Republican.
