He received his early education at the local public schools, taking courses in both the grammar and high schools there. Later he attended for a time the Washington and Jefferson Academy at Little Washington, Pennsylvania, and here he completed his schooling. Mr. George then secured a position as traveling agent, and from that time spent most of his time in traveling to various parts of the country to represent his firm. In this he met with considerable success, but his tastes always impelled him in the direction of farming, and he eventually purchased a handsome farm near Greensburg, with the intention of devoting himself to agriculture.
