General Notes: Husband - Robert Lytle

He followed the trade of a millwright and built many flouring mills in western Pennsylvania, Ohio, New York and West Virginia. He was an expert in his business and invented a diamond dresser for the dressing of millstones, a combination joint cutter, a planer and borer, and many other tools and appliances, including a water wheel, all of which served good purpose in their day, but became obsolete by reason of the general adoption of rollers in the milling of grain and by new methods for obtaining power.
