General Notes: Husband - Robert A. Jordan

He settled on the Jordan homestead [in Indiana County, Pennsylvania?], in 1807. He was a native of eastern Pennsylvania, and on his first location in that section, was a neighbor for several years of James Kelly and Fergus Moorhead, near the present site of Indiana. He had served in the Revolutionary war throughout the entire conflict. [HIC 1880, 466]

He came from Ireland at an early day, and located in Indiana County, Pennsylvania, where he made his home on a farm on the ridge between Smicksburg and Perrysville. He was a teamster in the American army during the Revolutionary War. He lived to the advanced age of eighty-three years, and reared a large family of children. [CBRCP-CCJC, 1212]

He came from Ireland at a very early period and located "on the frontier," in what is now Rayne township, Jefferson County, Pennsylvania. [CBRCP-CCJC, 1350]

General Notes: Wife - Catharine Redding

Different sources name her "Catharine Redding" and "Catharine Pounds." One might guess that one of these was her actual maiden name and the other a married name since she was Jordan's second wife.
