General Notes: Husband - Samuel D. Keppel


He was born in Allegheny township, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, where, with the exception of three years, his life was passed. He was the owner of two fine productive farms consisting of over two hundred acres of valuable land. The farm on which he resided was purchased in 1840 by his father from the latter's uncle, Peter Keppel, and in 1848 Jacob Keppel replaced the old log cabin with a substantial brick building.
Samuel D. Keppel held the office of school director. In the matter of religious belief he tread in the footsteps of his ancestors, being a member of the Lutheran church.
