General Notes: Husband - James Buchanan Sansom


He learned the printing business at Bedford, Pennsylvania, under George Bowman, who, during Buchanan's administration, was public printer at Washington, District of Columbia. Mr. Sansom, in course of time, entered the newspaper field, founding the Fulton Democrat, at McConnellsburg, Pennsylvania, and publishing this journal for some years. In 1862 he went to Indiana County, Pennsylvania, and there founded the Indiana Democrat.
