General Notes: Husband - Ferdinand Smearbaugh


He and his wife were natives of Germany. They came to America in 1848, and settled in what is now Tionesta, Forest County, Pennsylvania, engaging in farming. He was a carpenter, which trade he followed to some ex­tent, and as an agriculturist he cleared the farm later owned by Charles Leeper.
