General Notes: Husband - Thomas Robertson

He served as a soldier in the War of 1812.

About 1835 [1855?] he moved to Rostraver township where he purchased a large tract of land, owning in all some eight hundred acres. He engaged largely in the raising of stock and especially fine sheep, and was one of the most successful farmers of his day. He was a whig, later a republican and served as elder in the Presbyterian church.

He was born in Scotland and was brought by his parents to America while yet a child, the family locating in the eastern part of Pennsylvania, later removing to South Huntingdon township, Westmoreland County, where he was reared and educated. Soon after his marriage he removed to Rostraver township and continued residing there to the end of his life. [HWC 1906 III, 454]

He and his wife had eleven children.
