General Notes: Husband - John C. Morrow

He was born in South Huntingdon township, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. There he resided until after his marriage when he removed to East Huntingdon township, same county, where he resided thirty years. He was a butcher by trade and traded extensively in stock and lands. In 1877 he removed to Mount Pleasant, Pennsylvania, where he had a meat market for thirteen years, when he moved to Dawson, Pennsylvania, to the home of his daughter, Mrs. George C. McGill, where he resided until his death.

He reared a family of four sons and four daughters. He was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church and an active democrat. He held all the township offices, served from 1873 to 1876 as director of the poor for Westmoreland County, and in 1885 was nominated by a majority of four for county commissioner and was only defeated by a majority of four when the remainder of the republican ticket was elected by eight hundred majority.

He removed to East Huntingdon township after his marriage and resided there about thirty years. He was a butcher by trade, but was also successful in speculating in various directions. He removed to Mount Pleasant about 1877, lived there for thirteen years and conducted a meat market, and then removed to Scottdale, where he died suddenly four years later. He was prominent in local politics, and at various times held all the minor offices in the township and county.
