General Notes: Husband - Felix Henry Negley

The dates of birth for him and his sister are both given by the same source, but one or both of them must be wrong.

He received a common school education, was graduated at a commercial college, and afterwards embarked in merchandising at Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, remaining there four years. He married and came to Butler County the same year. He purchased a farm in Penn township from John Negley, upon which he thereafter resided. He was connected with the Methodist Episcopal church, in which he filled the offices of trustee and steward. September 3, 1864, he enlisted for service in the Civil War in Company D, Sixth Pennsylvania Heavy Artillery, and was honorably discharged June 13, 1865. Politically, he was a Republican, and was justice of the peace and overseer of the poor in Penn township.
