General Notes: Husband - William Stacy

He became a weaver and woolen manufacturer. After his marriage he worked in the Fountain Mills, near Scottdale, Pennsylvania, and about 1850 was employed on what later became the Scholl farm, near West Newton. He worked there ten years operating a carding mill and weaving cloth which he had fulled and finished in his father's mill on Georges creek. Later he worked in two other places in Westmoreland County, eventually migrating to Rush County, Kansas, where he secured a half section of wheat land and for the remainder of his life devoted himself to farming. After his death his body was brought to the East by his son, John M. Stacy, and buried at Connellsville, Fayette County, beside that of his wife who had passed away some years before his removal to Kansas.
