General Notes: Husband - Nicholas Van Eman

from Emmen [Eman?], Holland

It is not known at what period he and his wife came to America. They first settled near Wilmington, Delaware. They moved to Washington County, Pennsylvania, prior to 1781, and settled upon "Little Chartiers Creek," taking up a large tract of land under a "tomahawk improvement." The name was changed to Van Eman after their settlement there.
