The founders of the American branch of this family were Christian and his brother Jacob Bylhymer, who emigrated from Wurtemberg in 1763, and settled in Northampton County, Pennsylvania, in the vicinity of Nazareth, where the descendants of Christian were still to be found one hundred and fifty years later.
