General Notes: Husband - Adly Calhoun

About the beginning of the war for independence, Adly Calhoun, a native of Ireland, settled in Elizabeth township, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. He secured from the government a patent for several hundred acres of land, and built thereon a large log house, which after it had outlived its usefulness as a dwelling was used as a shelter for farm machinery. On this place Adly Calhoun passed his remaining years, cultivating his wide acres.
