General Notes: Husband - Charles B. Reeves

He received his education in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. In youth he learned his father's business, which he continued to follow for many years, principally as a contractor, with a percentage of important work which testified to his trustworthiness and thorough knowledge of his calling. For fifteen years he was established in Pittsburgh, and for ten years at Clintonville, Venango County, in those places as well as at Franklin commanding a class of patronage in itself a credit to his ability. As stucco work came into more general use he did considerable in that branch, taking contracts principally for the higher grades of work. His last undertakings of this nature were the courthouse and high school at Franklin. It was about 1914 that Mr. Reeves turned his energies into a new channel, and was profitably engaged in oil production. His operations were conducted on a valuable tract of leased land in Irwin Township, near the Clinton Township line, one hundred and fifty acres upon which he had twenty producing wells, with drilling going on as his judgment dictated and the conditions of the business made further development feasible. Mr. Reeves was the sole owner of the lease, which proved valuable.
Mr. Reeves was affiliated with the I. O. O. F. and the Knights of Malta, and with his wife held membership in the Methodist Church. He was particularly active in church work during their residence at Clintonville, and always supported religious enterprises with his means and influence.[HVC 1919, 777]
