General Notes: Husband - James Cannon

In 1812 he was living in the valley of Sandy Creek, Venango County, Pennsylvania, one mile from Waterloo (Polk), on a farm which included the old graveyard of that vicinity. He was an Irishman "of blunt manners but a good Methodist," and reared a family of six daughters.

He came from Ireland and made a settlement on Sandy creek [Venango County, Pennsylvania] when the region was an unbroken wilderness. He spent the rest of his life improving his land there. [CAB, 628]
