General Notes: Husband - Robert Latimer McGaughey


He enlisted in Co. K. 155th Reg. Pa. Vols., and went to the war in 1861. He was in all the important battles in which that regiment took part, including Gettysburg and the Wilderness.
He was married and they lived for a few years after their marriage on his father's farm, in Indiana County, Pennsylvania. They moved in 1870 to the farm owned by James Doutt in Cowanshannock township, Armstrong County, where they lived for five years. They then returned to the farm in Indiana County. Mr. McGaughey's chief occupation was farming. He was a thresher man almost every autumn for thirteen years.
