General Notes: Husband - William Aiken


He learned the tailor's trade with Charles Hawkins in Washington, Pennsylvania, whom he served as an apprentice from the age of fourteen until he was twenty-one. He started in business first at West Liberty, West Virginia, but soon moved to Short creek, Jefferson County, Ohio, where he remained many years. He was later living in a heartsome old age, on a farm at Coolville, Ohio.

He was the father of twelve children.

She was the eldest of twenty-one children in her parents' family.
